About Doctors’ Urgent Care

Urgent care refers to the medical care of non-life threatening conditions, including a full range of illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention. Examples of "urgent care" conditions would include a sprain / strain, ache / pain, skin rash, potential fracture, cut, minor burn, bronchitis and other upper respiratory concerns (sinus headache, congestion, cough, cold or flu). Doctors’ Urgent Care Offices can provide in house laboratory testing for urinary tract infections (UTI), influenza and strep throat on the spot, or when needed send your specimen to a clinical laboratory for further testing. In addition to digital x-rays and splinting for broken bones, we have standard stitching material and skin glue (liquid stitches) for repair of minor lacerations.

Doctors’ Urgent Care Offices provides walk in care for your family and occupational services for employers at each of our conveniently-located medical offices throughout the greater Cincinnati, Middletown and Dayton markets in Ohio and in Erlanger, Kentucky. Our offices are open daily (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas days) with extended hours and are always staffed with medical providers ready to take care of your everyday healthcare needs.

When in need of medical services, you may find that getting a timely appointment with your primary care physician or a clinic is sometimes a little difficult. Perhaps it’s a weekend, an evening or a holiday or your medical condition is not serious enough to warrant the immediate care of an emergency room. If you prefer not to have the headache of a crowded emergency rooms where the more critically ill patients are treated first and the bills are considerably higher, these are the times when the skilled physicians, providers and staff at Doctors' Urgent Care Offices are the proper choice to fill those needs. You can walk in and get up to the minute care.

Doctors’ Urgent Care Offices provides occupational (employment-related) health services to a large number of client companies in southwestern Ohio and northern Kentucky. A small listing of the occupational health services we offer are physical examinations (including DOT physicals, pre hire physicals), drug and alcohol testing.

We are certified for the treatment of worker compensation claims. We recognize that it is costly for an employer when an employee is away from work to receive medical care or recover from a work-related injury. That is why we have developed programs to minimize an employees' time away from work. Our philosophy is to return employees to work as soon as possible with restrictions so that the company can determine whether light duty is an option. Special arrangements can be made to provide services outside of our normal hours or to provide on-site services.

Ambulatory Medical Care, Inc. (AmCare) was founded in 1982 by C. Lawrence Decker, M.D. We began operations with the opening of the first Doctors' Urgent Care Office in Springdale, Ohio. Dr. Decker, as the medical director of a major hospital emergency department in Cincinnati for over ten years, noticed a need for urgent care facilities in the community. Our first locations on Route 4 in Springdale was a success and demonstrated the need for an alternative for immediate medical care. Over the years the company expanded, with current offices located in 10 communities. 1982 brought Doctors’ Urgent Care to Springdale OH. Also in the 1980’s, locations were opened in Miami Township/Milford OH, Middletown/Franklin OH, Kettering OH and Dayton OH. In the 1990’s, locations were introduced to Colerain/White Oak OH and Fairborn OH. Since 2000 locations were added in Erlanger KY, Mason OH and Reading OH. As a testimony to the philosophy of its founders and the hard work and dedication demonstrated by so many employees over the years, Doctors’ Urgent Care Offices is playing a major role in the medical communities in which we proudly serve.
